About HalalAtlas
HalalAtlas is a browser-based atlas of Islamic heritage - historic mosques, shrines, and landmarks. It gathers 75 destinations across 16 countries, plus a dedicated 59-site Madinah ziyarah guide, each entry with its story, historical background, and practical visitor information.
What you can do
- Search and filter sites by name, city, country, or type on the Explore page.
- Browse by country to see every site grouped by city.
- Follow curated editorial routes such as Imperial Istanbul or the Four Imams in the collections.
- Visit Madinah with the ziyarah guide: sites, du'as, and visiting notes by zone.
- Save favourites with a tap - kept privately in your browser.
- Plan a trip with the itinerary planner.
Free and Premium
The whole catalogue is free: every destination, country, collection and ziyarah page, every day of every curated route, search, unlimited saving, and the itinerary planner. Premium adds the printable trip document - your plan grouped into days, ready to carry offline - and lets you name and keep more than one trip.
Where the entries come from
The destination entries and the ziyarah pages are HalalAtlas's own catalogue and are not drawn from a cited outside work. On a ziyarah page, a hadith is shown with its collection and number; a report that has no number is labelled as coming from the tradition, with a note that its reference has not been matched.
Who is behind it
HalalAtlas is built and maintained by one independent developer, who also runs Fahm, Hafiza, HijriConv and Nubala. Guides are published under the HalalAtlas name with no personal byline, and the author recorded in their structured data is the HalalAtlas organization. No historian, imam or scholar is credited, and no ijaza or academic qualification is claimed. The date shown on a guide is the date its text last changed.
Before you travel
This is a planning aid, not a booking service and not a religious authority. Opening hours, access and prayer arrangements change without notice, so confirm anything you will rely on locally before you go. Questions about how to perform a visit belong with a scholar you trust.
Your privacy
There are no accounts, and HalalAtlas ships no photography - artwork is generated in your browser. Everything you save lives in your browser's local storage. See our Privacy and Terms.
